The Young Adult Ministry, for ages 21-39, meet regularly with a variety of gatherings for faith, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Participants have enjoyed time around a campfire with food and a presenter, catered lunches, gatherings at coffee shops for coffee and conversation. Young adults of All Saints Parish,
I would like to share my experience with the All Saints Parish young adult group and how it has helped me grow closer to God, serve our Church, and build meaningful connections with others who share similar values.
My name is Matthew Nichol. I am a lifelong member of All Saints Parish, a former Butler Catholic student, a 2018 Butler High School graduate, and currently a Social Studies teacher at Deer Lakes High School.
The journey of life is a rollercoaster of emotions, yet, through it all, we keep moving forward to find the purpose that the Lord created for each of us. For me, that purpose was discovered through involvement in and with the young adult ministry at our parish – forming new lifelong relationships.
Being active in our young adult group takes many forms—from Gospel conversations at a local coffeehouse, to relaxed laughter and engaging speakers during Theology on Tap events, to sharing stories by a warm, crackling fall campfire. My personal favorite? Directing traffic at St. Conrad’s during the annual Fish Fry—and that’s only the beginning. Meeting new people or trying new things can be intimidating, but you’ll feel welcome at any of these gatherings. When I started attending, it felt like an instant sense of belonging. It’s also a meaningful way to meet new people, reconnect with others, and continue the work Christ began.
I cannot say in words how rewarding this group has been. So please, take that step, try something new in our Parish, serve the Lord and others, grow as a Catholic, and truly discover YOUR PURPOSE.
